Conker, the Executive Search and Talent business set up by Liz Jones and Daren Rubins in January 2019 have announced their expansion plans as they take on a new Associate – Martin Galvin.
He will be involved with senior searches on a project basis as well as bringing his experience to meet a surge in briefs from digital platforms, Mar-Tech and Ad-Tech.
This takes the business up to ten people and reflects the increased demand for diverse, dynamic leadership in the industry using the company’s unique IP, Conker 360.
Galvin Co-Founded Calm Media Investments in 2023, having joined the industry in 1999 after a brief spell in the music business. Prior to Calm he held various roles both buy and sell-side, including Global leadership of Pinterest’s Agency Commercial Programme and running Digital Investment at GroupM UK, overseeing £2 Billion in billings. He is a speaker for Founders4Schools, supporter of Bloom, and recipient of the NABS President’s Award in 2019 for services to the charity. He also volunteers as a trained companion for ImNotOK. Clare Beddow, Commercial Director UK at MiQ credits him with ‘changing the face of commercial trading’ – “He has opened the door to diversity in commercial trading, where he has mentored, challenged and been a true ally”.
Martin, who is affectionately known as Galvin or Galv, said “It’s really exciting to be joining the team at Conker, in addition to the work I do with Calm.
