PECH [ the popular power-house ]

A natural connector who is highly organised and a pace-setter. Less strategically focused but if you want to get something done, and have fun along the way, give it to a PECH.

Specific Strengths

The PECH is in a hurry to get stuff done, so suits an environment that’s busy and sociable.

Their ability to interact with everyone makes them an ideal sales and business development leader.

Every business needs one of these, an engine of activity and enterprise.

Communication Style

Confident, warm and completely natural – communicating comes easily to the PECH.

They are involving, thoughtful and responsive but will avoid conflict at all costs.

They are happy to delegate but might do it themselves anyway if it’s quicker.

Management Style

They run fast and want others to keep up but are forgiving if they can’t.

The PECH are dynamic, relentless and determined in their pursuit of success.

They love being involved with their teams and will get into the detail of tasks and activities, seemingly to ‘help’ and be one of the team, but also to ensure things are being done correctly.

Watch-outs

Your speed and determination to get things done can sometimes compromise accuracy or decisions requiring more consideration.

Teams can take offence that you will do things yourself if they aren’t happening quickly enough.

You can at times be too much of a ‘people pleaser’ but will deal with conflict if you have absolutely no choice.

Areas for Development

The pace you set is both a strength and a weakness. For those all-important decisions, take a little more time to think things through and assess the impact. The speed you work at can be awe inspiring, but others may not be able to match it. To avoid you doing something yourself to get it done quickly, be clear on the priorities for your team members. If something needs doing as a priority, let them know it’s fine to drop something else to get it done. This way you will achieve what you need to without always having to do it and you’re developing your team.

Avoiding conflict can be useful in certain situations but there are times when dealing with an issue head on is the only option. Compel yourself to deal with issues as soon as they arise. Take a deep breath, do not overthink it and just tackle the situation in a calm, straight forward manner. Each encounter will give you additional courage to tackle the next one.
